The new adhesive from VOCO is a nano-particle reinforced, light-curing, one-component, self-etch bond for building a durable, adhesive bond with excellent marginal integrity between tooth substance and restorative.  Futurabond M permits etching, priming and bonding in just one step and thus adds another powerful bonding variation to the well-established Futurabond product line. Futurabond M is suitable for direct restoration of all cavity classes with light-curing restoratives (composites, compomers, ormocers®).

Convenient and hygienic SingleDose

Futurabond M now also comes in the convenient and hygienic SingleDose blisters. This unit dose delivery system is simply opened with the applicator, and the bond is ready for application. One coat is sufficient: this shortens the entire bonding process to only 35 seconds. The blister is gas-tight and does not have to be shaken. This system greatly facilitates cross-in-fection control procedures in the dental clinic.

Maximum adhesion with minimal effort

The quality of the adhesive bond substantially determines the long-term success of a restoration. Futurabond M provides the advantages of a sophisticated adhesive in combination with optimum user-friendliness. As a one-step bond, it provides significant savings in time and material, since mixing and applying different components are omitted. The one work step of etching, priming and bonding as well as subsequent light-curing are all carried out in an application time of just 35 seconds. A single coat of the bonding is sufficient to procure a long-term, stable bond between composite and tooth. In addition to this significant application comfort, Futurabond M as an all-in-one adhesive ensures the highest level of procedural safety and protection of the tooth substance. The composition of this one-component bond eliminates dentine over-etching and even mixing up the primer and bond. An additional advantage: Futurabond M has a working time of up to 5 minutes and therefore permits short breaks during application without compromising the quality of the adhesive.

Stable adhesive bond through nano-technology

Thanks to nano-technology, Futurabond achieves the highest level of stability and uniform adhesion, both with the tooth substance and restorative. Nano-scaled silicon dioxide particles with diameter of ca. 20 nm (0.00002 mm) provide for cross-linking of the bond’s resin components and improve its film building properties. The adhesive can thus optimally wet the released collagen fibres and micro-retentive etching pattern on the enamel created by etching. The sensitive collagen fibre network therefore cannot collapse and is entirely integrated into the adhesive layer. The far-reaching resin tags in the dentine tubules harden during polymerisation and strengthen the retentive bond of the collagen fibre-bonding hybrid layer. This effective combination of micro-mechanical and chemical anchoring also provides long-lasting marginal integrity and avoidance of post-operative sensitivities.
