The Dental Advisor: Top marks for Grandio®SO Heavy Flow
The prestigious US test facility, The Dental Advisor, has awarded Grandio®SO Heavy Flow, the high-viscosity flowable universal nano-hybrid restorative material from VOCO, 5 out of 5 evaluation points and also named it the “Editors’ Choice”. For Grandio®SO Heavy Flow, this means top marks from US dentists in the flowable composites category, following more than 800 clinical applications.
Grandio®SO Heavy Flow boasts a very high filler content (83% by weight) and outstanding stability compared to conventional flow composites. As such, it is the ideal choice for applications where these qualities are all-important, e.g. for the treatment of Class V cavities. Its high viscosity makes for simple and stress-free placement of composite layers combined with excellent wetting properties. In terms of its thixotropic properties, the US dentists unanimously agreed that Grandio®SO Heavy Flow, with its flowability during application and its stability thereafter, offers the optimal consistency and, given its filler content, promises to ensure permanently stable restorations for all cavity classes.
Grandio®SO Heavy Flow is available both in the non-run, non-drip NDT® syringe and in caps with a flexible metal cannula. The range includes the shades A1, A2, A3, A3.5, A4, A5, B1, B2, C2, OA2, BL and WO. According to the testers, the shades correspond to the shade guide provided and are ideally matched to natural tooth shades which, in turn, ensures first-class aesthetic results. The US dentists also highly rated the labelling of the syringes, which not only provides users with details on the viscosity and shade but also on the material's specific curing time.
59% of the US dentists stated that Grandio®SO Heavy Flow was better than the flowable they have used to date, whilst 31% said it was equally good. Furthermore, 83% of testers said they would even switch to Grandio®SO Heavy Flow in future and 90% would recommend it. All in all, a hands down win for the flowable composite with the greatest filler content of all flowables currently available on the market.
